Should I go in for more surgery after having a cyst removed from my forehead?

I just had what I thought was a cyst removed. And it was tested and came back ( dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans) a cancerous tumor. Now they want to go in a second time and make sure that they got it all. I am so scared to go in a second time. But if I don't there is a really good chance it could come back, but then again it may not. I just want some opinions or if someone else out there has been through this please write. AND also aren't they supposed to do a biopsy before going in, so they know what they are messing with.

You forget to mention your age! Any way a fibrosarcoma is an aggressive form of cancer, the doc must go in again to make sure that everythinhg is clean as radiation is not possible because the cancer is at your forehead and radiation would "fry" your brain!! So, do not wait anynmore, go back for the second surgical round!! Best wishes!!
Reply:You should probably go in, but if you are unsure of the doctors ideas on the situation get a second opinion from another doctor.
Reply:Since they know what it was, they did do a biopsy. Since they said it was cancerous, I would go back. You want to make sure that they got it all.
Reply:you should probably let them go back in

if you arent feeling right about it, get a second opinion first
Reply:oh my gosh yes you need to go in and have it redone because you dont want it to spead if they didnt get it all
Reply:girl, if it isgoing to save your life go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:if your second guessing it, i would definently get a second opinion before just jumping in...go with your gut feeling. best wishes.
Reply:If you have/had been diagnosed for cancer and the surgeons want to go in a second time GO! They will open the original surgical site and make sure that nothing was left behind. They don't need to do a biopsy, they tested the cyst when they removed it. They already know WHAT it is. Now they want to be sure they have it all out. They only thing I would be asking is if you need to be completely anesthetized to have this surgery or if you can be put under "twilight sleep". that way you would not need to have a laryngeal tube placed. I don't feel they are messing around with you. I believe they want to make sure they have all of the tumor.
Reply:Sweetie, you should GO IN!

Don't wait. My sister had one removed from her nose. If they didn't get it all it can grow back just as bad as it ever was.

With a skin growth you remove it anyway and test it later.

Good luck and don't wait--again.
