I don't think I can stand this pimple/cyst any longer?

It hurts a lot. I've only noticed it since yesterday, I keep my face really clean and steam my face and wash with acne medicine and don't touch my face and all that stuff but somehow I have this huge, swollen, angry, painful red pimple with no head on my cheek just under my eye. It's like the size of a dime and I'm only 14! I have tried everything - toothpaste, polysporin, steaming my face, using a needle to try and drain it, everything I can think of. I thought it came to a head but it turned out to just be dead skin that peeled off when I tried to pop it. It's disgusting! I can't live with it.. I feel horrible, and I have school tomorrow. My mom says it's a cyst and that it will come to a head and go away in a few days but it's so horrible. :( I've tried covering it up with concealer and coverup and it just makes it look worse! I'm at the point where I think I want to wear a bandage on my face to school! Help? What can I do!??

I don't think I can stand this pimple/cyst any longer?
Aspirin contains Beta hydroxy acid which is a powerful defoliant ,so you can crush 1to 2 Aspirin tablets mix with a little water and apply on pimples for 15 minutes and wash. More such solutions at http://solutionsforpimples.blogspot.com/
Reply:Your mother is right, it will go away in a few days, if you are really this self concious about it, dab some blue and black eyeshadow on it and say you got hit by a door or something Lol
Reply:WHOAAAAA! WWWWWWWWWTMI!
Reply:A dermatologist can use an extremely fine needle and inject a small amount of cortisone into the cyst. This allows it to clear up RAPIDLY as cortisone is a very effective ANTI-INFLAMMATORY. It will pinch a SMALL amount. You will definitely be able to tolerate it.
Reply:nothing really.

my face never breaks out, however if i eat a tomato i get cyst bumps. if you leave them alone they will go away.

ive learned over time messing with them gets you NOWHERE. it only makes it look worse.

so just leave it be. wear concealer and go on your way. if our 14 and thats all you have on your face your lucky.
Reply:ok first things first

Reply:Do the bandage thing.
Reply:I've had one before and unfortunately the fastest way they go away is if you do NOTHING to it. If you try to squeeze it, it won't speed up the healing and only bring more attention to it and take longer to go away and maybe even leave a scar. A bandage will bring attention to it to. I've learned that others will notice it much less than you because they do not know how big it is underneath or what it feels like.
Reply:what you do, is bring toothpaste in the bathroom.. take a shower and use regular soap and water. dry it off completely, and then put a tiny bit of toothpaste on it(no joke) and then rinse it with water. u should see it start to change color in about an hour. it should move down a few sizes over night.

p.s. whatever u do dont play with it, it will put oils on it
Reply:You need to go to the doctor and let them take a look at it--they can give you a shot right in it and make it go away!! I know it's embarrassing but go to the doctors and let them look at it--it might not even be acne!!!
Reply:When it is that big the only thing you can really do is let it run its course. You might try a tea tree oil stick, you can get them at sally's. Also try toning your face with witch hazel, that might help prevent future ones. If you get a green concealer that will tone down the red, and then cover it with your foundation it will look less noticeable. Best of luck.
Reply:use a band aide and tell everyone you fell. And leave it on until it goes away. and in the future dont pop them just leave them alone. I know thats hard to do but popping it will leave holes in your skin as you get older. I share your pain right now I have a giant pimple right in the middle of my fore head. I did not pop it but trust me I wanted too. tomorrow i will wear a dude rag on my head to cover up my pimple.
Reply:it sounds like your pimple got infected. You sholud see your doctor or a dermatologist.
Reply:When my daughter was 13 she had something like that on her cheek, right in the middle... It looked like a pimple, but didn't go away for 6 months, so I took her to the dermatologist and he shaved it right off then and there... they sent it out for testing.. it was just an inflamed hair follicle... but it WAS gross looking.. just like a big pimple that wouldn't go away... I thought it was importantant enough for her emotional well being to take her in and get it removed. And it looked great! All healed in a few days!! Ask your mom to take you to the doctor as soon as possible.... Your emotional well being is very important at your age.
Reply:I really feel for you on this one. When I was a teenager it was the worst -- hard painful pimples...they hurt so much...sometimes they would throb...and I kept my face clean just like you... Most of the time I would just use concealer and hope for the best. Usually people are pretty understanding about things like this, and you think it looks worse than other people do, but it is really hard to go about your day when you can feel it on your face.

Sometimes using a hot facecloth will bring it to a head.

I have also learned that sometimes it never comes to a head! That is, leave it entirely alone. Don't touch it at all, and sometimes it will disappear after a few days to a week.

You know, I never thought of doing that, but the band-aid idea is not too bad... you might be able to get away with it. Depending on where exactly the cyst is, you can make a joke about hurting yourself over the weekend...haha I opened a door into my face...or something. It will draw more attention to your face, but it could be believable. Because what you have is about equivalent to an injury!

One other thing that I have tried, that works for a few hours at least, is liquid band-aid. I had to go to a wedding and I had a pimple that had come to a head....and my foundation would not stick to it. The rest of my face was nicely made-up but there was this ugly red spot that the make-up wouldn't stick to. I was desperate, and I don't really know what this would do to a person's face, but I took a tiny bit of liquid bandaid and dabbed it on the spot....waited for it to dry...and the foundation stuck! After a few hours it started to look a little flakey, but to me it was better than a dark red crater. I really don't know if this would work for you, or if it would be safe to put it that close to your eye, though. Try at your own peril!
Reply:Ask mom to help you do this:

Use half of a raw potato to bring it to a head.

Drain it.

Clean it with hydrogen peroxide.

Dab honey on it.

Eat a spoonful of honey.

Drink a glass of milk.

Go to sleep.

Wake up in the morning and have a glass of O.J.

Consume adequate citrus (vitamin C) to prevent re-occurence.

Happy healing.
Reply:Stop playing with it- it will only become more inflamed. NEVER use a needle on a pimple.

Tonight, take a damp washcloth and zap it in the microwave for 30-60 seconds to get it really hot. Lay that on your pimple, reheating it as necessary. If it still won't come to a head, DON'T squeeze it- you'll just make it bigger.

Put a little bit of an exfoliating lotion (water based) on the pimple just before you go to bed. Your mom probably has some- look for the words "renewing" on the label. Clinque has a fantastic one called "Total Turnaround", but most brands have one. If you can't find that, look for something that has salycylic acid in it. This will keep from having more dead skin form on top of it.

In the morning, put an ice cube on it- that will help de-puff it and de-redden it.

Otherwise, don't play with it, don't wear makeup (sorry) until it heals.

good luck
Reply:The more you pick and prod at it, the longer it will take to go away :( So please stop putting more products on it. And definitely do not try to pop it yourself - that will lead to a scar that will be there for months.

I don't know if I have any recommendations to get rid of it by tomorrow, but if you ice it for 30 mins to an hour, the redness will go away. Maybe put some benzoyl peroxide on it before you go to bed. Don't do anything more. Good luck!
