What can I do to minimize the size of a facial bump/cyst?

Since my daughter was 4 months old she has had a redish/purplish bump on the left side of her cheek. It's close to her ear by her jawbone. I have taken her to the dermatologist and they didn't do a whole lot with her since she is only 1yr old. Basically they just said that it seems to be a salivary cyst or a angioma. Okay well then they want me to go back to my pediatrician and be referred over to another dr. Hello these are dermatologist that are supposed to look into these things not send me to everyone in town. So anyways it doesn't seem to hurt her or bother her. It's just annoying and everyone always ask if she has a bruise on her face. What can I do to minimize it, make it go away, or etc?

If it's an angiona which is a blood vessel growth, it is usually taken care of with a laser and if your derm doesn't have a laser in office then he would have to refer you to someone who does. Ask questions before you start to get mad, just because he is a derm doesn't mean that he can do laser surgery or he may want you to see a pediatric surgeon so that your daughter has the best possible treatment. Trust me, every time they refer you out, they are missing out on the money for treatment so if he is referring you out, it means he wants the best treatment for your daughter

Reply:I've heard iodine helps warts and pimples and such. Maybe iodine could help this as well. Try going to www.earthclinic.com It's a pretty cool site with natural remedies to most problems.
