Tomorrow I'm going to the doctors to find out about a cyst on my breast, what should I expect?

I have an appointment tomorrow to check on a cyst that I have behind my nipple on my breast. What should I expect?

it depends on your age.

Younger females in their twenties often present with cysts in their breasts that are painfull.

You can expect the dr to take a proper history, examine the breast and that he might stick a needle into it to do cytological testing.
Reply:Expect the worse when it comes to doctors, they are money hungry.

Its best u put castor oil or olive oil on the breast, it could be

nothing.

Toothpaste on bumps and lumps knock em down overnite.

Always get a second opinion if the doc wants to cut u.

Remember doctors are after money more than makin u well.
Reply:DEFINETLY INSIST ON FURTHER TESTING....BIOPSY, MAMOMMOGRAM ETC... DON'T LET THE DOCTOR TELL YOU WHAT TO EXPECT.INSIST ON TAKING CARE OF YOUR BODY.

IT COULD BE A FIBER CYST, OR CHANGES, BUT ANY LUMP NEED TO BE LOOKED AT

AND NOT TO SCARE YOU BUT IT COULD BE A CANCER TUMOR THATS WHY TO YOU NEED TO MONITOR IT AND EITHER WAY THEY WILL GIVE YOU AN OPTION TO GET A BIOPSY AND HAVE IT REMOVED.....FOLLOW UP AND GET IT REMOVED A.S.A.P.
Reply:As for the cyst - you are likely pretty scared. You can't help it - it's ok. Cysts/fybroids are common, and are not cancerous. However, they can be a precursor to cancer cells down the road. Something to watch, but likely nothing to lose sleep over.

First, ask any question that you don't know the answer to. Even now - write down your questions and bring them with you.

If you don't get an answer you understand, ask again

If you don't get an answer to the question at all, get a second doctor to review any tests.

Do NOT leave the office without a plan. A follow up, or a next action.

Do NOT trust the Doc to make decisions for you. You need to do what is best for you. Your Doc may be wonderful, but you have to live with the questions, decisions, whatever. The doc doesn't.

IF it doesn't make sense, or feel right to you - then it isn't. My best advice is to trust yourself. You know your body best.
