How many days after having a laparascopy (to remove an ovarian cyst) can I travel by flight?

I am planning to go to India (I have my family there) in mid-Nov. I've been diagnosed with having an ovarian cyst called endometrioma.I've consulted many doctors. Suggestion was to try and get pregnant within 6 months and if not successful, then should have a laparascopy to remove the cyst. Now its 5 months, so next month I've to have the lap. Since I'm going to India,I want to have the procedure done there.

My doubt is how many days after having the lap can I travel back (that is, fly)?

Check with your doctor. I would wait a week after any surgery at a minimum before a long flight. Two weeks would be better, but only if the proceedure is laparoscopic. If it involves a midline incision all bets are off.

Remember, you will be on a crowded plane for many hours, you are at a higher risk for infection and blood clots after any surgery.
