I was told I have PCOS. I wanted to know are there any women here who have PCOS (OVARIAN CYST) and was able to have children.
Are their any women here who have PCOS.(OVARIAN CYST)?
I have PCOS. I was diagnosed a few months ago.
I have 3 children and got pregnant very easily. They are 15,13 and 10
You can take metformin to help with PCOS and it can also help you get pregnant.
Reply:This website is great for women with PCOS. You can talk to other people who have it. There is a lot of information on the site that most doctors don't tell you, and you can meet new people. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 years ago, and it was hard...especially the kid thing. My advice is to find a doc that understands YOU, not the disease.
Reply:I dont myself, but have a friend who does. She was able to have a baby before it got really bad and she still gets her period some 15 years later. At the time she was also hard on cash and was not able to treat them properly and now has major problems with the inflamations (she can feel them through her stomach at this point) so make sure that you are checked regularly and talk to your doctor about having children. You may have a more painful childbirth, but your dr. should be able to advise you on how it will affect you and your child. Remember that your eggs are still good, so in the worst case senario if they do get bad enough where you can bare the child yourself, you can still take your eggs and your husbands sperm to have a healthy child if you can find a serogate mother. Most importantly, talk to your doctor and if you are in a relationship with someone now that is your husband start talking about the children thing at this point so that he realizes what is in store. If you are single or in a fresh relationship, talk to your dr. about time frames and how fast these things grow. Either way, you should still have options on having a healthy baby, its the toll on your body that you will need to deal with. For the record... my friends daughter is a beautiful and perfect child (health wise... she is a teenager). The best advise, is to just keep talking to your doctor and watch as things progress. Good luck hun... I hope all works out for the best.
Reply:My cousin was diagnosed with this and was told that she will not be able to have kids, my cousin responded thank you jesus. The doctor looked, and asked her why wasn't she sad, she just laughed. The doctor missed the punch line, my cousin have five kids already. LOL! The doctor should put you on some type of estrogen regime, and unless ovaries have cyst, you can get pregnant with one working ovary, just ask my cousin!
Reply:i was told i had it, and that i should try for a baby asap, and also my age was against me at 33. i had not had a period for a year, and had not ovulated.
i read this book called understanding pcos and it said that a zero carb diet helps to reregulate your cycle, so i went on the atkins for a couple of months lost 15 pounds, then we tried for a baby and i got preg within 1 month.
