Females: have you ever had a ruptured ovarian cyst?

On Thursday, I was taken to the ER for severe lower abdominal and lower back pain. After a CT scan, they said that they found fluid which could possibly mean a ruptured ovarian cyst. Well, I have actually had this happen before, but I don't remember the pain being this intense!! My question is, if you've had this happen to you, was the pain very intense, and how long were you in pain?? I still can hardly walk the pain is so bad, and pain medicine has not worked at all! Can anybody relate to this??

Females: have you ever had a ruptured ovarian cyst?
Yeah. I got one when I was 18, senior year of high school. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. One reason why I'm on birth control. It reduces the risk of getting them. I was in soo much pain I had to go to the hospital. Pain killers help dull the pain. I heard if you get more than one you will continue to get them. Some people it's a one and done deal. See if you can get some heavier duty medication to help with the pain. When I had it, the pain was so excruciating, I couldn't go to school the next day. Mine ruptured. Try putting a heat pad on it or a cool pack to dull/relax your muscles. And get stronger meds. Good luck. I know what your going through.
Reply:nope sorry
Reply:I can relate to this big time! Ouch! I could still remember the pain as I was reading your question. It was incredibly painful for me and I remember being sore for about a week even though I was taking Motrin. I don't know how bad yours hurts but I can relate and I hope that you feel better soon. Try to take it easy and stay off your feet if you can.
Reply:Unfortunately, I can relate. I've been rushed to the ER close to 5 times for ruptured cysts. They typically happen 1 to 2 times a year for me. The last one, the pain was so severe, it put me out of commission for approximately a week. Which pain medication do they have you on?

I've had success with Vicodin and Motrin 800 mg combo. The thing with that is Vicodin is not good for pain already there, it more or less will help keep the pain from returning, so they had me alternating between the two, every 4-6 hrs. Due to the high abuse rate of Vicodin, doctors are more hesitant to prescribe. I've had to go through several rounds of other medications (darvocet, tylenol 3, etc.) until they would even try it.

If the medication is not working, definately go back to your doctor and see what else can be done.
Reply:yes...and the agony in quite intense
Reply:I had a discomfort in my lower abdoman for quite sometime and the doctor did a ultrasound and found 4 large cysts on my ovary,,they were all around an inch or bigger,,they all burst at the same time and i felt like I would double over from the pain,,,the worst of the pain subsided but but i felt the effects of it for days afterwards,,,,,I have a very high tolerance for pain so what I call discomfort someone else would probably be in dire agony with
Reply:Why not try Bio Stim Kit ?
